It is relatively fast

Plan used: 3 months
Compared to other VPNs that I have used in the past, I found it to have great speed. I believe it is because Trust.Zone has around 127 servers located across 79 regions around the world. It is very encouraging.

Fell short of an important feature:

Plan used: 3 months
Trust.Zone VPN does not offer the kill switch option. As far privacy is concerned in the modern world, a kill switch is a must for every VPN company. This is just a must, no shortcut at all.

Poor Customer Service:

Plan used: 3 months
I was disappointed by the kind of customer services that Trust.Zone VPN offered me. The only feature that they have is an online ticket submission. As much as most of the other features were okay, this was a big blow to the company.

Customer Service Lapses

Despite all the downsides, still their support medium is not active 24/7. I found out that it is available only between 6 am and 4 pm GMT. What about the other times? Who should we query?

It is true that they do not store any connection logs either. They requested me to refrain from any kind of illegal activities. It is a good sign of guidance.

Data collection or retention

Plan used: 1 Month
Trust.Zone VPN did collect information when I registered for their services. Nevertheless, this was limited just to my email address. I believe the company uses it to authorize my registration and send email notifications and updates.

The fact is that Trust.Zone doesn’t support many different VPN protocols. Unlike most other leading VPN services do. To make it worse, I was able to detect DNS leaks.

Great privacy Zone

Plan used: 1 year
Since the company is based in Seychelles. The privacy here is just wonderful. Seychelles is a country that has very few and less strict rules as far as the internet is concerned. In fact it is a country with no data retention laws or policies. It was a wonderful session.

Trust.Zone VPN: Is it really the one VPN you can rely on?

In addition to various other online threats, being monitored and tracked by their own ISP is now one of the major issues faced by most Internet users. This has resulted in an increased use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Trust.Zone is one such provider we are about to review.

Based in Seychelles, East Africa, Trust.Zone is one of the relatively new VPN service providers that seems to have gathered mixed reviews from users and experts in different aspects. They advertise themselves as “the one to rely on!”; but, does that stand true?

Is My Privacy Protected with Trust.Zone?

Since the company is based in Seychelles, as mentioned before, users can be confident that they will receive great privacy from the VPN service, because it is a country with no data retention laws or policies.
Furthermore, Trust.Zone VPN clearly state on their Privacy Policy page that their goal is to maximize users’ privacy, and that their servers around the globe, “ARE NOT storing any log files to keep your privacy safe”.
The VPN service does collect information when you register for their services. However, this is limited just to your email address, which the company uses to authorize your registration and send email notifications about their services and updates. However, they do happen to mention that although they don’t save your payment details on their system, those can still be saved by third party payment processors during the payment process. Although this is something that takes place quite commonly, it does concern us a little bit, especially if you wish to remain private in all possible ways.
Also, the VPN service mentions that they do not store any connection logs either, and hence request their users to refrain from any kind of illegal activities. Trust.Zone VPN doesn’t seem to offer a kill switch feature.

How Much is Trust.Zone? Is There a Free Trial?

Trust.Zone VPN offer three different pricing plans: a monthly plan, a 3 month plan, and a yearly plan. The monthly plan is priced at $6.99 per month; the yearly plan, during the time of our review, was priced at $39.94 per year ($3.33 per month); and the 3 month plan is priced at $14.85 billed every three months (at $4.95 per month). All these plans carry the same set of features.

In addition, the VPN service also offers a Free Test plan, which basically allows users to test the VPN’s services for free for three days. Of course, there are some limitations to this plan; for instance, the accessible server locations are fewer, your data transfer quota is limited to 1 GB, and only 1 simultaneous connection is allowed.
Depending on the country you buy the service from, there could be additional taxes added to the pricing.
Apart from these pricing plans, the VPN service also offers a 10-day money back guarantee in case you are not satisfied with their services.
When it comes to payment methods, Trust.Zone accepts all major credit cards, WebMoney, QIWI Wallet, Alipay, bank transfer, and Bitcoin for those who wish to stay anonymous and protect their payment details.

Trust.Zone Speed Test

Trust.Zone has around 127 servers located across 79 regions around the world. In our speed tests, we were able to find that pretty much all servers delivered decent speeds, except for a few, especially those in Europe. Servers in the United States were the ones to deliver the highest speeds of all. In fact, the speeds we received from the company’s servers were better than many other VPN services we tested so far, and we are certainly impressed about the same, especially considering that this is a relatively new service provider.
Due to these decent speeds, you shouldn’t have any problem streaming videos and other content from your location, and the VPN service doesn’t restrict P2P as well. However, as discussed earlier, they do ask their users to not engage in illegal file sharing.

How is Customer Service at Trust.Zone?

As always, when it comes to a VPN service, we expect the company to provide the best customer support via as many means as possible. However, with Trust.Zone VPN, we have to say that we are quite disappointed to know that they extend support only via an online ticket submission. This section requires you to enter your email address, subject of your ticket, department of the same, level of importance (!!), and the message.
What makes things worse is that even this support medium is not active 24/7; it is available only between 6 am and 4 pm GMT, and the response to our ticket took around 6 hours. Apart from this, there is an FAQ page, but it didn’t seem very comprehensive to us.

Features

Trust.Zone VPN has managed to maintain the design of its website quite the same since its launch. The overall design and layout is very professional, decent, and made to provide great user experience. All the information you would need is available easily, with menus available both at the top and bottom of the main page.

Signing up for the VPN service is as straightforward as it gets. Choose a plan of your choice, including the Free plan, and you will be asked to enter your email address and preferred password to initiate the signup and setting up process.
Trust.Zone VPN has 127 VPN servers located in 79 different zones around the world, covering almost all continents, such as Europe, Asia, Africa, United States, North America, South America, and Oceania.
Another positive aspect of a new VPN service like this one is that it can be used on a wide range of devices and operating systems, such as Windows, Android, Mac OS X, iOS, Linux, and Router. So, no matter what device you use, using Trust.Zone VPN’s services wouldn’t be a problem at all.

When it comes to the actual set of features, those offered by the VPN service are the standard ones you would expect from any VPN provider. The service doesn’t log user activities, prevents your ISP from monitoring and tracking your moves, provides unlimited bandwidth, unlimited server switching, allows P2P traffic, and secures your online activities.

Is Trust.Zone Safe?

Talking about security, it is important to know that Trust.Zone doesn’t support many different VPN protocols like most other VPN services do. The VPN service has OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec protocols on offer. With OpenVPN, you get 256-bit AES encryption, which is known to be the highest of standards in terms of security. If your device doesn’t support this protocol, you can go with the less secure L2TP protocol.
What really bothers us when it comes to security is that we were able to detect DNS leaks during our tests. Yes, the VPN service provides ways to prevent or eliminate DNS and WebRTC leaks; however, the fact that we were able to detect leaks certainly brings down the strength of security offered.

Bottom Line

For its pricing and the basic set of features it offers, Trust.Zone would be a great choice for those of you just starting out with a VPN service. If you are a veteran VPN user, there are certain factors that wouldn’t appeal to you as much, like the standard features, leaks, and insufficient customer support options.
