They don't offer the kill switch option

Plan used: Monthly VPN
This is a primary feature for any serious VPN In this industry. I believe that without this option, my anonymity is at risk and that is the main reason I am using a VPN.

Accepts a variety of currencies

Plan used: Premium VPN
The major merit of this VPN is that it supports different currencies, including Euro, Canadian Dollar, Russian Ruble, and more. When it comes to payment methods, the VPN Land service accepts payments via credit cards, PayPal, WebMoney, Paymentwall, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. Great services at once.

More writing than the real services offered

Plan used: Monthly VPN
On their About Us page, VPNLand says that they manage more than 700 VPN servers . However, I found out from their Server List page that there were only just above 260 servers operated by the company. Why not just tell me the truth?

Inconsistent and slow speeds on some of the activities

Plan used: Monthly VPN
If you are looking for a VPN with ultra-fast speeds, say for gaming, you may need to look elsewhere. When I tried gaming I just had to give up because of the speed.

They collect information from users

Plan used: Premium VPN
What really bothers me is the fact that the VPN service collects a lot of personal information from users. This information is includes name, address, debit or credit card details, email address, telephone number, IP address among others. Is there anonymity?

Fare prices at VPN Land

Plan used: Premium VPN
I found the VPN Land prices to be relatively fare. This is in comparison to the other VPN service providers that I have used. If the price were to be reduced, then I think all will be well.

Their is no free trial at VPN Land

Plan used: Monthly VPN
It is unfortunately that there is no free trial or money-back guarantee offered by VPN Land. Regardless of what their reason is, this is definitely a drawback. Please introduce free trial.

VPNLand: Truly a premium VPN?

Even with over 10 years of experience operating in the VPN industry, VPNLand hasn’t been able to establish a great reputation for their brand and features. How efficient is this Canada-based VPN service?

VPNLand is a Canadian VPN service provider with roots in network management. The company has been operating for over 10 years now. However, for some reason, they don’t seem to be a popular name in the VPN industry. Do they live up to their claim of being a premium VPN?

Is My Privacy Protected with VPN Land?

When it comes to privacy policy, VPNLand states that they “do not spy on our users and we don’t monitor their internet usage”, which is exactly what we expect from a VPN service provider. They also state that they “reserve the right to notify law enforcement agencies” if they suspect any user’s involvement in criminal activities, which again is absolutely fair.
However, what really bothers us is the fact that the VPN service collects a lot of personal information from users. This information is inclusive of your name, address, debit or credit card details, email address, telephone number, IP address, date of birth, and also the last four digits of your credit card number. This is just too much information for any VPN service to collect, and although they say that they wouldn’t rent, sell, or share your personal information to third parties, they do share information with other companies that provide services on their behalf.
“These third parties (“Service Providers”) will only have access to the information needed to perform these limited functions on our behalf and are required to provide your Personal Information with at least the same level of protection and security as we use on the Site”; however, it is still a matter of great concern, especially when so many sensitive personal details are made accessible to third party service providers. Also, the VPN service doesn’t offer a kill switch feature, which is another drawback. Overall, we are not completely satisfied with the privacy policy of VPNLand.

How Much is VPN Land? Is There a Free Trial?

VPNLand has on offer three different pricing plans: a monthly plan, a 6 months plan, and an annual plan. With the monthly plan, you will be billed $10 per month; if you choose the 6 months plan, you will be billed $60 every six months at the rate of $10 per month; and if you go for the annual plan, you will be billed $59.99 a year at the rate of $4.99 per month.
In most cases, VPN services offer reduced prices for long-term plans. VPNLand, however, doesn’t seem to reduce its pricing for the 6 months plan, and even for the annual plan, the reduced pricing seems like a limited-time offer. Overall, the pricing is also a bit high when compared to many other VPN services on the market.
One major advantage of VPNLand is that it supports different currencies, including Euro, Canadian Dollar, Russian Ruble, and more. When it comes to payment methods, the VPN service accepts payments via credit cards, PayPal, WebMoney, Paymentwall, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. Unfortunately, there is no free trial or money-back guarantee offered by VPNLand, which the company states is for security reasons. Regardless of what their reason is, this is definitely a drawback.

VPN Land Speed Test

On their About Us page, VPNLand mentions that they manage more than 700 VPN servers around the world. However, we found out from their Server List page that there were only just above 260 servers operated by the company. Although this seems quite contradicting, we still continued with our speed tests.
The speeds of the VPN’s servers weren’t impressive. Although some servers delivered speeds sufficient enough for streaming, others were really poor. However, one saving grace is that VPNLand’s servers are P2P friendly. If you are looking for a VPN with ultra-fast speeds, say for gaming, you may need to look elsewhere.

How is Customer Service at VPN Land?

VPNLand offers support via a wide range of platforms. You can contact the team via email, Skype, on the phone, or even follow them on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. to gain more knowledge about their services or have your doubts cleared.
However, although the VPN service mentions that they provide 24/7/365 support to their clients, it is not really the case. Their support service or chat box was offline throughout the time we were trying to contact them, and we had to leave a message for them to contact us, which took several hours. The response we received, though not highly comprehensive, was quite sufficient. There is also an FAQ page, but not a great one, and a Knowledge Base, which is quite hard to find.

Features

We really like the VPNLand website, especially for its simple yet efficient design. The website is designed with a clear and simple layout, making it easy for visitors to find the information they need without too much hassle.

Moving on to the sign-up process. Click on the Order Now button on the main page and you will be taken to the page where you can select the currency of your choice and a subscription plan. Next, you will be required to provide your details for signing up and this is where we got a little frustrated. VPNLand asks for way more information than any other VPN service for signing up. After this, you will be asked to choose your payment method and then proceed to checkout.
The VPN service can be used on Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, and Linux devices, and there are setup instructions available for the same.
As mentioned before, VPNLand has around 264 VPN services located in countries like the US, UK, Canada, France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, Russia, Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
The list of features offered by the VPN service, as with most other VPN providers, is standard. You get to hide your original IP address, bypass Internet restrictions, use Wi-Fi networks securely, use VoIP connections, and more. In addition, VPNLand also offers a VPN Router option, with which it claims to provide unrestricted speeds with their preconfigured wireless VPN routers.

Is VPN Land Safe?

Although the VPN service claims to support PPTP, L2TP, SSTP, and OpenVPN protocols, the protocol available for you varies on the location of the server you are connected to, and most VPN servers seem to support only PPTP and OpenVPN protocols. As far as we know, OpenVPN is the most secure of all protocols and the fact that VPNLand supports the same makes it a secure option.
However, when it comes to leaks, we were able to detect DNS leaks when testing the service, which is a huge drawback.

Bottom Line

Overall, as you can see from the review above, there are not many positive points to discuss about VPNLand. This is just another average VPN service which needs to work on a lot of different aspects to make itself reliable and popular.
