Well, I am the kind of person who is more into security of a vpn opposed to speeds. With no kill switch, I dont think VPNHUB is good for me.

changed from trial to premium

Plan used: 1 Month
I changed my from the free/ trial to the premium one. I must admit, it was great. Free one had so many ads that made it aweful. More so, the premium comes with more compatible OS. Unlike trial that only has android and iOS.

VPNHub Review

In May 2018, the adult entertainment giant Pornhub unveiled its own VPN service - appropriately named VPNhub. Pornhub entrusted the lesser-known mobile app creator AppAtomic with the development of its VPN apps. The results are supposed to be fast secure, and available free of charge to mobile users.

What is VPNhub?

Whether Pornhub’s goal is to make its adult content available to those who cannot view it without a VPN or it just wants to contribute to the noble goal of making the Internet free again, its VPN is something that I am anxious to try.

Is My Privacy Protected with VPNhub?

VPNhub was developed by AppAtomic, and is subject to AppAtomic’s Privacy Policy.  It is currently a general Privacy Policy, and not directly connected to VPNhub.

“Appatomic does not collect or log any traffic or use of its Applications or Services.”

Other than some website tracking, the only information collected that it mentions is users’ advertiser (device) ID, which may be shared with third-party service providers. “Aggregate or non-personally identifiable information” may also be shared with “non-affiliated third parties for advertising, marketing or research purposes.”

  1. Information We Collect

By accessing or using any of Appatomic's applications or services ("Applications"), you do not have to give Appatomic any personally identifiable ("personal") information to browse our websites or use our Applications. In general, we collect the following limited information from users:

  • Account Information. We may have access to your advertiser (device) ID. Also, if you chose to provide such information to Appatomic to create a Premium account we will require and have access to your e-mail/username and password.
  • Applications and Website Visitors. We do not collect any personal information from visitors to our Applications. We may have access to your advertiser (device) ID. For more information, see the "Cookies" section below. We do not track user activities outside of our Applications, nor do we track the browsing activities of users who are logged into our VPN service.

Appatomic does not collect or log any traffic or use of its Applications or Services.

  1. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell or rent personal information to others.

The information we collect through our Applications and Services is primarily used to create new accounts, collect payment for our Services, identify and communicate with current subscribers, or offer troubleshooting or customer support. We may also use personal information for the following reasons:

  • To verify your identity when you log in to the Applications or Service;
  • For internal record keeping;
  • To complete your in-App purchase;
  • To administer and improve our Applications and Services;
  • To target our Applications content to your preferences;
  • To respond to your requests or inquires and for other customer service purposes;
  • So that we may periodically send you promotional information that we think may interest you, about products, services, and offers made available by us, our affiliates or our marketing partners; and
  • To analyze usage and trends on our Applications and to better understand how users use the Applications and Services.
  • Service Providers. With third-party service providers who provide services on our behalf, such as processing payments, hosting our Applications, and sending email messages for us. Our service providers only receive the information they need to perform their designated functions, and are not permitted to use or disclose this information for their own marketing or other purposes;
  • Aggregate, Anonymous or De-Identified Information. Sharing aggregate or non-personally identifiable information with non-affiliated third parties for advertising, marketing or research purposes. However, we do not share your personal information with any third parties for their own marketing, advertising or research purposes.
  1. Cookies

This section describes the information we collect about visitors to our Applications. As noted above, we do not track user activities outside of our Applications, nor do we track the web activities of users when they are logged into our VPN Services.

We may use or engage others to use cookies, clear gifs, and similar technologies to understand how users access and use our Applications. In general, you can browse our Applications without telling us who you are and without submitting any personal information.

Browser Cookies. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. There are two types of cookies: session-based and persistent-based cookies. Session cookies exist only during an online session; we use session cookies to allow our systems to uniquely identify you while you are logged in to your account at the Applications. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your browser or turn off your computer. We use persistent cookies on the website only, to track aggregate and statistical information about user activity.

Disabling Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Application visitors who disable their web browsers' ability to accept cookies will be able to browse the Applications but certain Applications features will not function.

Third Parties. We may engage third parties, such as Google Analytics or Firebase, to track and analyze non-personally identifiable Applications data. We do not provide these third parties with any personal information that we have collected about you.

How Much is VPNhub? Is There a Free Trial?

VPNhub offers two plans. There is a free version for Android and iOS users (only), and a premium version. The free version is supported by ads, has limited customer support, has restricted speeds, and is limited to just one US-based server in Los Angeles. It does, however, offer unlimited bandwidth (data transfer).

Although the VPN service is free, mobile users should be aware that normal data charges apply. The premium plan opens VPNhub to Windows and Mac desktop users. It also removes all ads, improves speeds, and adds 24/7 customer support. VPNhub Premium costs £10.49 per month (approx. USD $14) if paid monthly, or £5.33 per month (approx. USD $7) per month if paid annually.

VPNhub Speed Test

VPNhub’s performance was sadly disappoint and in no way unique from what I’ve experienced with other VPNs. Overall, VPNhub retained 24.4 percent of the base speed using five different locations around the world. The worst-performing location was Japan, but the United Kingdom connection was particularly good. All of the other locations were close to, or above, 20 megabytes per second, making them usable for most online uses, especially for streaming video.

How is Customer Service at VPNhub?

With VPNhub, you have two options in cases where you may need additional support. You can browse the FAQ section, which covers the most basic information about the service. If you do not find what you need, you can go with option number two, which is getting in touch with the support staff via email. Disappointingly, the website does not have a live chat, so you cannot get a prompt answer whenever you need assistance. The service does promise 24/7 support with the Premium version of the service, but live chat support is still not an option, which means that the term 24/7 support is used rather loosely.

Features

With the paid version, you can choose from around 30 server locations, switch between servers as often as you wish, and enjoy unlimited bandwidth, 24/7 support, an ad-free environment, and greater speeds. You can also use their services on up to 3 desktop and mobile devices.

VPNhub offers rather non-specific explanations of the features it offers, including personal data protection, encrypted traffic, ease of use, and cross-platform support. It does not offer P2P optimized servers – it doesn’t even mention P2P sharing. Useful security features like a VPN kill switch are not available.

The service promises to allow you to access any content, anywhere you go, but the truth is that the service is not available in all world countries. The service does not work in Burma/Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria and it may not work in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and China due to government-imposed censorship. There is no advice for potential users in countries with Internet censorship.

Is VPNhub Safe?

No information is currently available regarding the VPN protocols or encryptions used by the mobile apps. The Windows app, however, uses OpenVPN. From the config files we can determine that this uses the following settings:

Data channel: an AES-128-CBC or AES-256-CBC (default) cipher with HMAC SHA256 hash authentication.

Control channel: an AES-256-CBC cipher. Data authentication and handshake encryption is undefined in the config file, but a Diffie-Hellman exchange (DHE) provides perfect forward secrecy.

Bottom Line

If you want a free and reliable private connection for your mobile devices that offers unlimited bandwidth, VPNhub is one of the best VPN apps that you can use today. It is fairly new on the virtual private connection market, but it is already showing its good features and quality from the start. However, if you want to have the full benefits of this private connection application on your desktop, you need to sign up for the premium plan.

Overall, this VPN service gives you everything you need to browse the Internet anonymously. It encrypts and protects your data without logging any of your browsing activity. It is also a good way to just bypass all types of online restrictions while you are traveling or on the go. It is definitely better than the similar free VPN services that offer their private connection for free, but with a limited bandwidth and unreliable performance
